Napoleonic Lake is a stunning 5 and half acre lake that can be dated back to the Napoleonic times and is available for exclusive hire for up to 4 anglers. Set in private woodland, the lake holds carp up to 69lbs and is surrounded by mature Oak, Willow, Hazelnut and Hornbeam trees. Included with the lake a luxury fishing cottage which can sleep up to 6 people (4 anglers plus 2 non angling guests).

The lake is situated 40 minutes drive from Limoges airport and 15 minutes from the town of Confolens. If you are traveling by ferry then the lake is approximately 4 hours drive from Caen and 6 hours drive from Calais.

The current average carp size in Napoleonic lake is a massive 42lbs and due to the warm climate and the superb environment that has been created, significant weight gains have been seen season upon season.

The lake banks are relatively flat and can be easily accessed all the way around. There are 8 swims which are well distributed meaning each swim has good water coverage. As the lake is limited to 4 anglers at anyone time, this ensures you are not feeling hemmed in by other anglers and adds to the wonderful experience of fishing this piece of angling paradise.  Three of the swims are large enough to accommodate a 2 man bivvy making this an excellent venue for fishing with friends and family.

The lake is spring fed and rich in natural food sources. It is surrounded by overhanging trees creating wonderful cover for both the carp and the anglers, as well as having beautiful lilly pads and beds of reeds. The deepest part of the lake is around 10 and half foot and there’s an abundance of underwater features including plateaus and deep channels, so don’t forget your marker rod.
