La Loubiere is a 37 acre lake in Central France with a truly amazing stock of huge carp to 74lbs and an average size of over 35lbs. The lake is approximately 6 hours drive from Calais and can be fished by a maximum of 15 anglers.

The current stock is around 650 carp with the lake record a huge 74lb 4oz mirror. The average size as of January 2022 is 35lbs. There are 6 carp over 60lbs, over 20 carp over 50lbs and over 50 carp over the 40lb mark. To keep the weeds at bay there are 60 grass carp between 15lbs up to 55lbs.

When the carp are on the bait the actions can be quite prolific with some anglers landing over 30 carp in a week.

On site are showers, wash basins and toilets as well as a fridge freezers and electricity points for charging phones and bait boats.

In the 1990s La Loubiere was a public lake for swimming and water activities. In 2005 the lake was then purchased by a local wealthy chateau owner and the lake was left untouched. Since 2020 the lake has been under the management of the new owner who is one the best fish farmers in France with a reputation for producing stunning big carp.

The lake is fed by the river Loubiere which ensures a rich supply of oxygen. There is a good supply of naturals in the lake such as blood works and freshwater mussels which has created the optimal environment for growing very large carp. The lake bed consists mainly of silt, however using one of the boats which are available to hire with a sonar will help you to locate likely feeding areas.

The Swims

Surrounded by mature trees and set in acres and acres of countryside, La Loubiere has 8 swims, 7 of which are doubles swims with swim 7 being a single swim. All swims can be accessed by car. However in April if it is wet it may not be possible to access swims 6 or 7.

Swims 1, 2 and 3 can be accessed by car, however all other swims can only be accessed by foot or using a boat which can be hired (own boats are not permitted). Click on ‘availability and reservations’ to view a map of the lake, prices and to book.
