Cas-en Lac is a 20 acre lake located just south of Renne in East Brittany. It is easy to reach by ferry being only an hour drive from the port of St Malo and also close to Le Havre and Caens. The 50 year old lake is often said to resemble an old English estate lake and is surrounded by mature overhanging trees and set in 10 acres of private woodland. With a stock of 300 commons, leathers and mirrors up to 68lbs, the lake can be hired exclusively, usually groups of 6 to 8, or if you are a group of 4 anglers you can be paired with another group of 4 anglers. Have a look at the photos as the fish really are stunning. Cas-en Lac has loads of character and so many features to explore. There’s a large island just off the centre of lake and 2 smaller ones, as well as peninsulas and four bay areas, it really does have everything a carp angler could wish for. There is an aerial map of the lake in the photos. There are 13 swims spread around the lake each commanding a large area of water and with ample room for a bivvy and to easily position 3 rods. Depths range from around 10 foot to 4 foot and the lake bed is a mixture of gravel and silt. There are many underwater features to discover as well as great opportunities for margin stalking under the many overhanging trees and bushes. Crayfish and poisson chats have been removed. The lake is fully secured with 2 thirds of the lake perimeter backing onto the River Meu and the other third protected by secure fencing.  To help you get to your swim it is possible to drive around part of the lake to drop your gear off. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday and the lake some season is from the end of March to the last Saturday in November when the winter season starts.
