Etang Damvillers is a 15 acre lake just 4 hours from Calais, which has a very impressive stock of carp to over 60lbs. The lake can be fished by a maximum of 7 anglers and is available for exclusive bookings.
In July 2023 the lake was purchased by the current owners. The lake had been unfished since around 2018, however prior to this it was a carp fishery with a very good existing stock of carp. A huge amount of work has been put to create a first class carp lake with excellent facilities.
There are ten swims at Etang Damvillers which are well spaced out around the lake giving each anglers plenty of water to fish to as well as the opportunity to move. The lake bed consists of gravel and silt. There is no weed. Depths range from 11 foot in the middle to around 3 feet in the margins.
Whilst the lake has not yet been netted it is estimated that there are around 250 to 350 carp. There is a very good average size of around 37lbs with the lake’s largest residents over 60lbs. A few single anglers fished the lake in 2023 with each angler landing 20+ carp for the week. One angler fished a 2 week session and landed over 50 carp.

A food package is available which consists of a breakfast baguette and evening meal.
- Arrival at 12:00, departure no later than 10:00.
- You are obligated to use the landing nets, unhooking mats, and weigh slings provided there.
- Use of the toilets is compulsory.
- No damage may be caused to plants or trees.
- Fishing is only permitted from the landscaped cuttings.
- Excessive noise will not be tolerated.
- The fish must be returned as promptly and intact as possible (prepare your photo and film equipment in advance).
- Sacking fish is prohibited.
- A maximum of three rods per angler is allowed.
- Anglers under 16 may use a maximum of 2 rods.
- Ensure your landing net and unhooking mat are ready before the start of fishing.
- Always have a bucket of water available next to the unhooking mat.
- The use of Klinic (or a similar product) is mandatory.
- Braided main lines are not permitted.
- The use of safety rigs is mandatory, allowing the fish to easily lose the lead.
- Waste must not be left in your swim.
- Use the provided garbage bags to clean up everything.
- Consume alcohol in moderation.
- Open fires are not allowed.
- Rowing boats and bait boats are permitted as long as they do not disturb each other.
- Pellets are available for purchase at the lake, and these are the only ones permitted. Particles must be bought on-site (the owner requires 100% certainty that the preparation is perfect).
- Only fresh boilies or freezers are allowed. No shelf-life boilies. Lake-special boilies are available on-site.
