With us this week were Gary and his grandson, James.
It was grandads treat to take James on his first trip to France so their excitement was building for months before their visit.
They decided to set up together in the main double swim and, as they put up their bivvies, we had a chat about tactics, rigs and baiting up.
The week turned out to be well worth the wait and all the excitement, both of them were in to PB’s with their first carp. James with a 33lb mirror and Gary with a 36lb common.
The lads were already happy by Sunday but went on to beat these PB’s again with James landing a 37lb mirror and Gary landing a 38lb mirror on the last day.
