I thought I would leave a little review on my recent trip to 3 islands. I wanted to book somewhere to take my dad away but with the added bonus of a lodge (with him getting old) but we treated it as a drive and survive holiday anything else would be a big bonus. And there was plenty off them with the shower block being run on gas so a continuous supply of hot water, a kitchen lodge with all your must haves, knifes forks spoons microwave air fryer bbq station English charging points. The lake it’s self even though still being weedy from the hotter months didn’t disappoint (it’s beautiful)
With minimal reviews or catch reports to go on we was going in blind. We was set up in the lodge swim and even though there was still a good head of weed with a marker lead and marker rod it didn’t take long to find some nice bottom to present our baits on. With it being a double swim and the weed still being present I took the choice to drop down to two rods each. We ended up with 16 bites landed 15 of them up to 39.12 along with a couple of sturgeon.
With this being said its not a really busy week and we had to work for our bites with all but two coming through the hours of darkness of the baited spot the other two coming from pre baited margin areas as the fish didn’t give a single show away for the week we was there, but the fish we did catch were in pristine condition with plenty of room for growth.
Over all for the convenience of how easy it is to get to and being within two hours of the ferry and the price I couldn’t moan at all about the venue fish or communication from 3 islands from the booking to checking in to make sure our holiday was going smoothly.
