The Cottage Lake

The cottage lake is a 10 acre lake set within acres of French countryside which opens for the first time in 2025. Located in central France just over 5 hours from Calais the cottage lake is available for exclusive bookings only.
Set just a few metres back from the lake is a safari tent which can sleep up to 4 people making this lake ideal for families, partners, or anglers who want a bit more comfort. The safari tent is being installed in November 2024. The current photos are of the same tent that be erected and are for illustration purposed only.
The lake can be fished by up to 4 anglers and has around 140 carp to 55lbs and an average weight of 27lbs. There are also around 20 koi carp and 10 a grass carp present.
There is a double swim outside the safari tent however anglers can fish from anywhere along the grass lake banks, including pitching a bivvy.
The lake is stream fed and has very high water quality, creating the perfect environment to grow big carp. Depth vary from a foot and half to around 6 feet in the deepest parts with the lake bed made up of sand, flint and clay.
There are hot showers and toilets just a 2 minute walk away from the lake (see facilities tab). A superb food package is also available (see food package tab.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday
A food package is available which can be delivered to the lake. This includes a continental style breakfast and freshly cooked dinner.
- A €5 rubbish tax is required upon arrival.
- Bait boats are permitted.
- Rowing boats are prohibited.
- Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
- Only fish-safe rigs are allowed; no fixed leads.
- Use micro-barbed hooks only.
- Mono mainline is mandatory; braided mainline is not allowed.
- Leadcore leaders are banned.
- Rig tubing must always be used.
- A maximum of 3 rods per angler.
- Each angler must have a landing net of at least 40 inches, a weigh sling, and a large carp mat. Weigh cradles are not permitted
- All fish must be unhooked, weighed, and photographed in the water.
- Apply a carp care kit to hookholds.
- Anti-social behavior will not be tolerated.
- Do not leave any rubbish in your swim.
- Be considerate of fellow anglers.
- Well-behaved dogs are allowed.
- No open fires are allowed.
- BBQs are permitted if they are elevated off the ground.
- The lake is under video surveillance.
- Failure to follow these rules may result in early dismissal from the lake without a refund.
