Lac des Cottages is a 10-hectare lake in the French countryside that will open its doors for the first time in 2025. Located in central France, just over 5 hours from Calais, the lake is available for exclusive bookings.
Just a few metres from the lake is a safari tent that can accommodate up to 4 people. This makes the lake ideal for families, couples or anglers looking for a little extra comfort.
The lake can be fished by up to 4 anglers and has around 140 carp up to 55lbs and an average weight of 27lbs. There are also around 20 koi carp and 10 grass carp
There is a double swim outside the safari tent, but anglers can fish from anywhere along the banks of the lake, including setting up a bivouac.
The lake is fed by a stream and the water quality is very high, creating the perfect environment for growing large carp. The depth varies from a foot and a half to around six feet in the deepest parts, with the lake bottom consisting of sand, flint and clay.
There is a dry toilet a short walk from the safari tent. Please note, there is no running water, however hot showers and flushable toilets are just a 5 minute drive from the lake as well as a fridge and freezer for storing food (see facilities tab).
The safari tent is powered by a solar panel for light, and there are several USB sockets inside the tent for charging your mobile phone.
