Nestled within 13 acres of private Limousin forest and countryside is Lac de Mandeix. Lac de Mandeix is a 6 acre lake with carp to over 55lbs and a 2 bedroom chalet which can sleep 4. The chalet is about 20 metres from the lake allowing you to easily keep an eye on the rods. Please note you cannot night fish from the chalet though.
Lac de Mandeix opens for the first time in late summer 2022 after the owners have spent 4 years hard work restoring the lake and carrying out extensive work on the grounds including building the chalet.
A large pop up swimming pool will be installed for the 2024 season and will be available be used in the warmer months.
It is now the perfect venue for anglers as well as non anglers to enjoy complete privacy and have exclusive use of the lake and the landscaped grounds.
The lake can be fished by a maximum of 3 anglers each using 2 rods or 2 anglers each using 3 rods. This limited pressure on the fish ensures they remain very catchable and gives each angler plenty of opportunities to move swims.
The maximum amount of guests will 4 non angling guests in the chalet and 2 anglers who would be required to sleep in bivvies given the chalet only sleeps 4.
Since acquiring the lake the owners have made several stockings to supplement the existing resident carp and there is now a good head of common and mirror carp to over 55lbs.
The lake is steam fed and can be dated back to the 1800s in the Napoleon era. Due to the lake being stream fed it benefits from very high water quality which is the perfect environment to grow very big carp. Depths range from 10 feet at the dam end of the lake to around 2 feet in shallowest areas. There are plenty of features to fish to, including gravel areas, humps, reed lines and overhanging trees and bushes.
Booking are for exclusive hire only and are Saturday to Saturday

June to October 2024 is 1300 Euros
All other months are 1100 Euros
Landing nets, cradles, weigh slings and weigh tripods (scales are no provided) are provided free of charge.

General Rules
- Be respectful to the surroundings, the lake and the facilities
- No swimming
- No smoking in the chalet
- Do not leave rods unattended
- No fires
- Dogs are allowed, however you must clean up after them
- A cash refundable deposit of 400 Euros is required which will be returned in full if there is no damage to the chalet or equipment.
Fishing Rules
- Rigs checks will be carried out
- Maximum 3 rods per angler
- If only 1 angler is fishing they can use 4 rods
- No night fishing from the chalet
- Do not sack the fish
- Bait boats are allowed
- Rowing boats with electric motors are permitted
- Barbless or crushed barbed hooks
- Minimum 15lbs mono line
- Fish safe rigs only with leads fish drop-off style
- No braided mainline
- No lead core
- Keep fish hydrated at all times
- Where possible take photographs in the water
- Treat hook holds and fish wounds with a carp care kit
- All seeds with the exception of hemp seed are prohibited
