Where do I start….
Just spent a fantastic week at La Petite Martiniere – 53500 french carp fishing with Luke Bonas (24-31 May).
It was our first time in France and we chose this lake due to its size and exclusivity. It turned out that we made a very good choice
We caught a total of 27 fish, with Luke on 16 and me on 11.
Sonubaits Oozing Spicy Sausage pellets proved deadly for Luke, with all of his fish falling to these (over plenty of house boilies & pellet). The spicy sausage pellets smelled and looked great after 10 hours in the water.
I mainly used house boilies and pellet and we got through about 45kg between us (including some particle and 4 tins of sweetcorn).
My advice would be –
1. Listen to Matt and ask lots of questions.
2. The fish eat loads so don’t scrimp on bait.
3. TAKE THE FOOD PACKAGE it was way beyond our expectations with Matt creating stunning dishes befitting of high end restaurants (the photos don’t do it justice). The ingredients were fresh, top quality and you could tell that Matt really cares about the dishes he serves up. The food was amazing and incredibly good value for money.
Matt and Natasha work incredibly hard to deliver the best possible experience and it was a pleasure to spend time with them both on the bank and over some food on the last night. They absolutely smashed it!
We can’t wait to come back and are in the process of working out a date for next year – assuming there’s something left!
