La Froterie is a superb 4 acre lake in Pougne-Hérisson, South West France set in picturesque surroundings. The lake holds a good head of common and mirror carp to just under 50lbs and can be fished by up to 4 anglers. This venue includes a luxury gite which can sleep up to 6 people as well as a private swimming pool. There is a BBQ at the gite and by the lake making it ideal for a family holiday or if you are taking a partner.
You will have exclusive use of the lake and husband and wife, Heath and Lisa will be on hand should you require and help or advice. Once you have settled in they will leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday and the beautiful surroundings.
The lake was acquired by Heath and Lisa in 2017 and opened for anglers for the first time in April 2019. Set in the heart of the countryside, the lake and accommodation is surrounded by fields, acres of maize and sunflowers as well as a small scattering of farm animals.
Four swims have been created which are well placed and spread around the lake to ensure each angler has ample water coverage. Since purchasing the lakes, Heath and Lisa have added to the existing fish stock. As of April 2022 there is a good mixture of commons and mirrors to just under 50lbs and a very good head of 30lbs.
Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. Check in is at 4pm and check out at 10am.

- Weigh slings and nets are provided – if you bring your own net it must be dipped
- Each swim contains:
- 2 carp slings and retainers
- 2 bottles of carp care kit
- cradles and slings
- 3 rods maximum per angler
- 15lb minimum line
- No braided mainline except for marker and spomb rod
- No leadcore
- Rig tubing must be used – minimum 40cm
- Barbless hooks only
- No bent or long shanked hooks
- Safe rigs only, no knots, shot etc above the lead
- No sacking fish
- Always kneel for photos
- No nuts
- Bait boats are allowed
- Drones are prohibited
- No litter to be left, use the bins provided
- Use the toilet in gite not the lake
- Loud music or fires are not permitted
- BBQs at the lakeside require the lake owners permission
