Kingfisher Lake is a picturesque tree-lined lake which is 7 acres in size and holds carp to excess of 50lbs. Exclusive bookings are available for parties of up to 5 anglers, who will enjoy the serene setting alongside a fully-equipped chalet accommodating up to 6 individuals, nestled just off the lake’s edge. Additional guests beyond 6, a mix of anglers and non-anglers, may stay in bivvies.
With 6 swims distributed across the lake’s two sides, each angler is assured ample water coverage. Two of these swims are doubles, catering well for anglers wanting to fish together. Depths within the lake range from approximately 3 feet in the shallows to 8 feet at its deepest points.
The lake is accessible from all sides and particularly inviting for margin stalking. Ideal for family vacations, the lakeside chalet boasts not only scenic views but also an outdoor dip pool operational between June and September.
Bookings are exclusively for weekly hire, from Saturday to Saturday.
Nigel and Jo acquired the property in May 2023, though the fishery itself has been a fixture since 1999, serving as one of the pioneering carp fishing holiday destinations in France for UK anglers.
The fishery was mentioned by angling legend, Chris Yates and inspired his book ‘Cross Channel Carping’. In this book he described the lakes as: “…Well off the beaten track, well clear of the over–intensive carp circuit, these lovely pools each have the unique atmosphere, offering wonderful fishing, especially for the stalker and have the potential to make even your biggest landing net look small…”
Guests can customise their fishing holidays with tackle hire, food packages and bait.
Fly and Fish
A fly and fish package is available which includes pick up from Limoges airport which is approximately 45 mins from the lake and hire of tackle for the week.
Tackle hire includes bivvies, bed chairs, chairs, bivvy tables, rods, scales, bank sticks, and nets.
You will need to bring your own reels, bite alarms, terminal tackle and sleeping bags and pillows
A variety of baits, including boilies, pop-ups, hookers, and glug, are prepared on-site to order, featuring flavours such as maple syrup or spicy fish. Custom blends such as party blend, maize, and chilli hemp are also available, alongside pellets, all offered at competitive rates. A pre-arrival bait order form ensures guests’ preferences are catered to upon arrival.
Guests can opt for a cooked breakfast and/or two-course evening meal daily, bookable in advance.
We want you to enjoy your holiday at our fishery but in order to protect our fish and
our property we have put in place some essential rules:
- Maximum of three fishing rods per angler and no rods to be left unattended when your line is in the water
- Maximum one hook per rig
- All bait fish must be caught at fishery (if fresh water fish baits)
- No nuts or shelf-life boilies, lead core or barbed hooks (barbless hooks only) and no braided main lines, snag leaders or shock leaders
- Rig tubing must be used no less than 600mm when ledgering
- Cradles and weigh slings are provided – please use these and not your own and never leave a fish unattended
- Carp care antiseptic gel must be used to treat hook wounds after each catch (available to buy if needed)
- Ensure all hooks with boilies attached are at least 4ft off the ground if unattended to avoid injury to wildlife and pets
- Ensure your landing net is always within reach
- All fish must be released and returned to the water as quickly as possible with the utmost care (make sure your camera works in the dark)
- Make sure you always have a bucket of lake water to hand and everything ready for when you catch
