On arrival to etang de Janine, David was waiting for me and took the time to talk me through the areas that had recently done a few fish. David explained depths, holding areas, and gave me a great starting point. I chose the spot he suggested and was into fish within the first 24 hours. Two fish over 50lb came from that area, along with a few others.
Mid-week, I decided to swap ends of the lake to try a new area David had mentioned, a much-loved holding spot. My move certainly paid off — I had a treble take in 30 minutes and landed my new PB common at 61lb!
The facilities are basic — the toilet and shower are simple but functional — but all I need when fishing is hot running water, so it was fine. David delivered breakfast and my evening meal to my swim daily. The food was proper top-notch; the burger and wedges were probably the best I’ve ever tasted!
To sum it up: the fishing was fantastic, the food was awesome, and the banter with David was spot on. Definitely worth a return visit!
