Nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Dordogne region of southern France, Domaine de Puyregonde is an idyllic escape for both fishing enthusiasts and those simply seeking a peaceful countryside retreat. Offering excellent fishing, top-tier accommodation, and a heated swimming pool, this venue is the ultimate destination for relaxation and adventure alike.

Spanning 1.4 acres, the north lake is home to an impressive stock of 84 fish, with an average weight of 33 lbs and some reaching up to 50 lbs. Designed for a maximum of two anglers, this secluded lake sits just 250 metres from the accommodation, ensuring easy access.
For convenience, the lake has one double swim and is ideally suited to 1 or 2 anglers.
Essential fishing gear such as landing mats, weigh slings, and nets are provided to ensure fish welfare.
Domaine de Puyregonde is set within a fully fenced, 25-acre private estate, guaranteeing peace, privacy, and a complete escape from noise pollution. Located between Limoges and Périgueux, the estate lies within the stunning Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park, offering breathtaking views and an abundance of wildlife.

For groups of 5 or more people, the Magnolia gite which has one double bedroom can be booked in addition. (see facilities tab for photos). The price of the Magnolia gite is £850

To maintain a respectful and enjoyable experience for all guests, the following rules must be observed:
Access & Vehicles
- Only vehicles from the Fisherman’s Cottage or BIWI post are allowed on the fishing road between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
- Avoid unnecessary trips—please park at the estate entrance.
Fishing Guidelines
- Fishing must be done from designated swims only.
- Strictly No-Kill – all fish must be carefully released.
- Live bait and lure fishing are forbidden.
Equipment & Baiting Rules
- Radio-controlled boats are permitted.
- Bait rockets and electric-motor boats are allowed.
- A personal life jacket is mandatory on the water.
- The estate’s boat is for professional use only.
Rod & Tackle Regulations
- Maximum of 3 rods per angler
- Braided mainlines and leaders are banned.
- Only barbless hooks (max size No.2) are allowed.
- Lead-core is prohibited.
- Regular rig checks will be carried out.
Fish Care & Handling
- All fish must be handled using a weigh bag – never in your arms.
- Provided landing mats and nets must be used.
- Only boilies, pellets, and approved natural products may be used.
- All fish must be kept wet and returned to the water promptly.
- Storage bags, including floating ones, are strictly forbidden.
Behaviour & Site Etiquette
- Anglers must remain near their rods at all times.
- Swimming is not permitted.
- Minors must be supervised by an adult.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead and supervised.
- Drunkenness and drug use will result in immediate expulsion.
Environmental Responsibility
- Do not damage vegetation.
- No fires allowed – only gas stoves and above-ground BBQs.
- Dispose of all rubbish in provided bins.
- Leave your fishing area spotless upon departure.
Security Deposit
A refundable €300 deposit per gîte and €200 for fishing equipment is required upon arrival.
