Deep Quarry madness 🔥
After fishing this deep Quarry pit for a fair few years now….. on a social with my brother….. we’ve always managed to get amongst a few of these old relic carp…. But never managed one of the real mega big ones what are in this amazing deep pit
This trip it all changed, fishing to some spots I have previously found what are around the 15/20 ft depth mark on some ledges coming of the cliff edge. I managed a few bites of some smaller angry males….. with dropping down large amounts of Amino Marine chops and bollie crumb soaked up in the liquid getting it to sink faster down to the spot. Then the crayfish moved in, I did manage one more bite from this ledge until the crays started to wipe me out…… with the weather changing, the pressure dropping and strong winds coming in I knew a change up was on the cards. So I went out on the boat to find a new deeper water spot, which I did at 37 ft. 2 traps were dropped on this zone with a huge spread of Amino marine chops and Amino ester chops. Knowing if the crays did find me at least there would be enough for the carps to home in on the spot too. Night fell with the temps dropping and the morning started with stationary rods…. I stuck with the deep water spot and around midday I was woken up by 2 bleeps and the swinger tight in the alarm. The battle was on 🔥 straight out on to the boat trying to get above the fish as I’m fishing 37 ft and plenty of boulders and snags to cut me off on. After an intense battle in the gin clear deep water we saw a huge dark lump finally making its way to the surface. Then seeing the split tail on this carp knowing what fish this was from a previous picture I saw…. I knew what I was hooked into. Adrenaline was through the roof, With another huge lunge striping line back down the cliff edge, I just held on and started pumping her back up and a big gulp of air from her, the job was done and in the net she went.
I finally had one of the mega collosal big girls what lives in this quarry pit.
Just look at that carp and to share the moment with my brother is what it is all about.
