Archipelago Lake is mature tree lined 8 acre specimen carp lake with carp to in excess of 70lbs located close to the Champeaux Region of France. There are over 160 carp present with a huge average size of 42lbs and a very good head of 50 and 60lb carp. The lake can be fished by up to 5 anglers and is available for exclusive bookings only.
Set in completely private grounds the lake is three quarters of a mile away from the nearest road, railway or neighbours to ensure that you experience complete peace and tranquillity during your stay.
Archipelago Lake is rectangular in shape meaning that it can be easily fished from all sides. Down the centre of the lake there is a row of small tree clad islands which offer plenty of features to fish to as well as acting as a divider across the lake and offering anglers opposite a degree of privacy. In addition to the islands you will find bars, narrow gullies and overhanging tree which can all be productive areas to fish to. It goes without saying don’t forget your marker rod as extra effort will be rewarded. Depths are between 2 and half and 8 feet in the deepest area.
An ancient woodland borders the south side of the lake which provides welcome shade in the heat of the day. There are 12 swims around the lake which have been well thought out all offering ample water coverage and features to fish to. Each swim can easy accommodate a bivvy and as there will only ever be a maximum of 6 anglers there will always be vacant swims to move into. Swims 6 and 7 or 8 and 9 are perfect for those wishing to fish close together particularly if one angler is overseeing a youngster or inexperienced angler who wishes to have their own swim. Swims 9, 10, 11 and 12 benefit from the shade as they back onto the edge of the woodland. Swims 1 to 5 get the sun most the day and the shallower water at this end of the lake can be very productive as the water temperature rises. Behind swims 6 and 7 there is shed which can be used for storing unused tackle and equipment.
You will find a rowing boat on either side of the lake which are for your unrestricted use. Bait boats are permitted and recommended. If you do not have your own these can be hired from the owners, however please arrange this well in advance of your trip.
There is a clubhouse, shower block and a gazebo social area. The owners will be on hand to offer advice and help if you request it but equally if you would prefer you can be left to figure the lake out for yourself.
