Al’s lake is a 4 acre spring fed lake located west on Limoges with an impressive stock of carp to over 50lbs and a good head of 40lb plus fish. The lake can be fished by a maximum of 4 anglers and there are 2 double swims and 1 single, making it ideal for small groups of friends.
It is not a difficult lake and has not had too much angler pressure. As a result the action can come thick and fast when the fish get on the bait.
The lake is set in acres of French countryside and is surrounded by an abundance of nature. The swims have been well thought out ensuring each angler has plenty of water to fish to. The lake bed is a mixture of silt and clay with the deepest area of the lake around 12 foot. Surrounding the lake are mature overhanging trees and shrubs as well as marginal lilly pads. The stock of carp in Al’s lake means there is every chance of new PB. There is a mixture of commons and mirrors and as of 2021 the numbers and weights are:
50 x 20lb plus
20 x 30lb plus
12 x 40lb plus
6 x 50lb plus
On site you’ll find a clean and tidy toilet and hot shower block as well as kitchen area and charging points for bait boats and phones.
The lake is approximately 5 and a half hours drive from St Malo. If you would prefer to fly, then you will find regular flights from the UK to Limoges airport. Airport collection can be arranged and a 3 rod set up and bivvy is available to hire.
The season runs from 1st March to 30th November.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday. Arrival time no earlier than 12 noon and departure is between 8am to 10am.

Mats, weigh slings and landing nets are provided free of charge
Bait can be pre-ordered before your trip. Only particles prepared and purchased by the lake owners are permitted.
Food package which consists of a cooked breakfast and 2 course evening meal are available for £150 per person.

- Rig tubing of at least 2 inches
- Children under 14 must be with an adult at all times

- Ensure fish are kept out of the water for the minimum time possible
