Etang de Villaine is a 6 acre lake set in beautiful countryside in Vesdun in central France. Managed by Stuart, an experienced carp angler, the lake is partially surrounded by mature oak and willow trees with depths ranging from 13 to 5 feet.
The lake is stocked with an incredible stock of carp up to a massive 70lbs with the current average being 44lbs. Check out the catch reports!
If you enjoy the reward of feature finding then there’s plenty of underwater features to locate using your marker rod, from gravel bars to drop offs and holes. To help you make the most of your trip there will be an English bailiff on hand to offer tips and advice.
The lake can be fished day and night and there are showers and flushing toilets on site if you are camping in a bivvy. There is also a fully equipped gite if prefer a bit more comfort for your stay.

- Sacking of fish is prohibited
- Use the landing nets, cradles and weigh slings provided by us
- Always wet the landing nets and slings before use
- Use the buckets provided to ensure that the fish are kept wet at all times
- Braided mainline only permitted for markers and spodding
- No barbless hooks. Barbed and micro-barbed only
- Hook links must be coated braids
- A maximum of 3 rods per angler
- Only fresh or frozen boilies and pellets permitted. Particles or nuts are not allowed.
- No fixed rigs
- Hookholds and other areas of the carp that may be damaged must be treated with a carp care kit
- Keep the swims tidy and rubbish free
- No fires
- Anglers must be 16 years or older
- Always take care of the fish for photographs, kneel and hold the fish over the mats provided. Release the fish using the slings provided
