Lac Lucie is an idyllic 3-acre lake with carp to over 50lbs, located in Massignac in south west France about 45 minutes from Limoges.
The lake is available to book exclusively for up to a maximum of 3 anglers and includes a fully equipped chalet which sleeps 6 set just back from the lake bank. On the terrace of the chalet there is outdoor furniture, sun loungers and a hot tub. For the summer months there is also a dip pool. See the facilities tab for full details.
The venue can be hired by more than 6 people, typically a mixture of anglers and non-anglers with some sleeping in the bivvies.
If you are a party of more than 8 anglers then both Lac Lucie and Kingfisher lake can be hired together. Please enquire for details.
There are 3 swims spread between two sides of the lake ensuring each swim has sufficient water coverage. There is a double swim at the top end of the lake for those of you that like to fish in pairs. The depths vary from 3 feet in the shallows to 7 feet in the centre of the lake
There is access all around the lake, making it ideal if you fancy some margin stalking under the overhanging trees and bushes. There are many underwater features, including gravel bars and deep holes so a bit of work with the marker rod will pay dividends.
The current owners of the lake bought the property in May 2023 from the original owner who established the fishery in 1999, one of the first carp lakes offering fishing holiday in France for UK anglers.
The fishery was mentioned by angling legend, Chris Yates and inspired his book ‘Cross Channel Carping’. In this book he described the lakes as: “…Well off the beaten track, well clear of the over–intensive carp circuit, these lovely pools each have the unique atmosphere, offering wonderful fishing, especially for the stalker and have the potential to make even your biggest landing net look small…”
Lac Lucie is perfect for a family holiday and as well as the lakeside chalet, there is a hot tub and an outdoor dip pool for use between June and September.
Bookings are for exclusive hire only and from Saturday to Saturday.
Cradles and weigh slings are provided free of charge.
Other tackle is available to hire at the venue, including bivvies, bed chair, chair, bivvy table, rods, scales, bank sticks and nets. You will need to bring your own reels, bite alarms, end tackle, sleeping bag and pillows.
For people who choose the full tackle package, airport transfers from Limoges airport are included.
Boilies, pop ups, hookers and glug are all prepared on site to order in our maple syrup or spicy fish flavours. We also prepare party blend, maize and chilli hemp to order and have pellets available. All at competitive rates.
A bait order form is sent out in advance so we can ensure that your requirements are ready for your arrival.
A cooked breakfast and/or two course evening meal every day are available to book.
We want you to enjoy your holiday at our fishery, but in order to protect our fish and our property, we have implemented some essential rules:
• Maximum of three fishing rods per angler, and no rods to be left unattended when your line is in the water.
• Maximum one hook per rig.
• All bait fish must be caught at the fishery (if using freshwater fish baits).
• No nuts or shelf-life boilies, lead core, or barbed hooks (only barbless hooks allowed), and no braided main lines, snag leaders, or shock leaders.
• Rig tubing must be used, with a minimum length of 600mm when ledgering.
• Cradles and weigh slings are provided – please use these instead of your own, and never leave a fish unattended.
• Carp care antiseptic gel must be used to treat hook wounds after each catch (available for purchase if needed).
• Ensure all hooks with boilies attached are at least 4ft off the ground when unattended, to avoid injury to wildlife and pets.
• Always ensure your landing net is within reach.
• All fish must be released and returned to the water as quickly as possible, with the utmost care (make sure your camera works in the dark).
• Make sure you always have a bucket of lake water nearby and everything ready for when you catch a fish.
