Windmill carp lake is a 4 acre lake with a good head of big carp to 59lbs. The lake is available for exclusive bookings only for a maximum of 4 anglers. For anglers wanting a bit more comfort there is a cabin set back from the lake which has 3 beds.
Located to the west of Le Mans, Windmill carp lake is easy to access from the major ferry ports and is around 2 hours from Caen or St Malo and 4 and a half hours from Calais.
The lake is stream fed and was created in the 1970s. It is an irregular shape made up of 3 bays and an island area providing plenty of features to fish to. There are no designated or gravel swims, you are free to fish anywhere you choose to. The banks are all natural with plenty of grass areas to ensure you are comfortable and have ample room for you bivvy and equipment.
The lake bed is made up of mostly clay, with some silt pockets and patches of gravel. There is a rowing boat at your disposal to locate features and drop your rigs.

For larger group there is a second 4 acre lake on the same site. The lake holds catfish and carp – click here to view the lake. Both lakes can be booked for a total price of £1700. Please send an enquiry if you would like to book both lakes.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday
The lake owners offer a large supply of baits including particles, pellets, pop-ups etc.
Cooking on the bankside is prohibited and therefore all guests are required to book the food package. The food package includes a full English breakfast served with orange juice and unlimited tea or coffee.
The evening meal is a hot main course followed by dessert. For example, Sunday roast with fruit crumble.
Meals are served outside or inside the bait room depending on the weather.
It is compulsory to order the food package which is 150 Euros per person.

- Barbless hooks only
- No crushed barbs, long shank or nailer hook patterns
- Leave no litter including cigarette ends
- Sacking fish is prohibited
- Large unhooking mats must be used which are the cot/ cradle type. No flat mats
- Grass carp are not to taken onto the bank
- Minimum 42 inch landing net
- Treat the fish with care. Remove any jewellery which could injure the fish
- Kneel for photos. No standing
- Minimum 15lb line
- Lead core prohibited
- Tubing is required to be used
- Fresh/ frozen boilies only
- Boilies must be made using fresh eggs, not powered eggs. Please ensure you check the ingredients.
- No plastic baits
- Particles can be used but must be supplied by the lake owner for the safety of the fish
- Pellets must be purchased from the lake owner
- Do not transfer fish between lakes under any circumstances
- The rowing boat is to be used at your own risk. Life jackets are to warn at all times
- Ensure the gates to the property are closed at all times
- The shower and toilet is to be left the condition found in.
- Report any breakages immediately
- Arrival not before 2pm and departure by 10am the following Saturday
- A refundable 200 Euro deposit is required to be paid upon arrival
