Yellowstone lake, formally known as Etang de Petit Moulin is situated in the rural southwest of France in the Limousin region, nestled within 32 acres of mature woodland. This stunning, 20-acre lake, shaped like a dogleg and extending over half a mile in length, dates back over 400 years. The lake varies in width from 70 to 120 yards and has depths ranging from 3 to 12 feet.

The closest ferry ports are St Malo and Caen which is just over a 5 hour drive to the lake.

The lake, a former fishery which closed in 2019 was acquired by the new owners in late 2023. The exact stock in the lake is not known and prior to August the lake was only fished by the owner and some of his friends was work removing snags and making swims was underway. On the 12th September 2024 a massive mirror of 65lb was landed!!

The current average size based on over 60 carp caught is 38lb. The has been very few repeat captures so far and there are plenty of uncaught fish and every possibility of larger uncaught carp being present.

Once you are on the fish the action can be thick and fast with one 24 hour session for Will the lake owner resulting in 9 carp, with 8 being over 40lbs.

Anglers can choose from 12 spacious and strategically located swims on one side of the lake, providing each angler with a substantial expanse of water in front of them, with a maximum capacity for 8 anglers. The lake also features an old riverbed, lily pads, inlet streams, hidden bays, and silt pockets among its many charming attributes.

There are high quality onsite facilities, please click the facilities tab for details.

Bookings are Saturday to Saturday with arrival not before noon or with prior arrangement you can bivvy up on Friday in a dedicated area away from the anglers on the lake.

A selection of boilies, particles and pellets can be purchased on site. Please order at least 2 weeks in advance.
