Watersmeet Fishery

Bait boats £100 per week- 2 are available

Pellets and particles must be purchased from the lake owner. Boilies are also available to be purchased.

Equipment Use:

•     Only landing nets, cradles, and weigh-slings provided by the fishery may be used. Please follow proper handling procedures.

Rod Limit:

• A maximum of three rods per angler.

Bait Boats:

• Bait boats are allowed but should be used with respect for other anglers’ fishing areas.

Line Specifications:

• Minimum mainline strength of 15lbs is required.

Line & Rig Restrictions:

•     No lead core or leaders of any kind.
•     No braided lines or shock leaders, except with marker or spod rods.
•     Only safe rigs; no fixed or tethered rigs permitted.
•     All rigs must use a minimum of 18 inches of tubing.

Bait Rules:

• Only fishery-provided pellets and particles may be used.

Hooks:

• Barbless, crushed, or micro-barbed hooks are required. Long-shanked curved hooks are not allowed.

Fish Handling:

•     Fish must not be retained or sacked.
•     Always kneel for photos with fish—no standing while holding them.
•     Ensure that hook-links are unclipped or mainlines are cut before lifting the fish into the cradle.
•     Weighing scales, iodine, and cameras must be ready before handling fish.
•     Apply carp care treatments to hook wounds or other injuries before returning the fish to the water.
•     Be especially careful when releasing fish in warmer weather.

General Conduct:

•     Fishing is only permitted in designated swims.
•     Do not leave rods unattended.
•     Assistance is available 24/7.
•     Disorderly behavior, especially under the influence, will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of your stay.
•     Always be respectful toward other anglers.
•     Consent must be obtained for the use of any photos by the fishery.
