Spruce lake is a mature 6.5 acre lake set in beautiful French countryside, just east of Limoges in south west France. The lake holds around 100 carp to excess of 50lbs, with a very good average size of mid to high 30lbs and a good head of 40lb+ carp.
Set within pristine private gardens, this mature lake is surrounded by mature overhanging trees and shrubs. The lake can be accessed on all sides and 10 very well maintained swims have been created which have been well positioned around the lake. Depth range from around 13 feet at the dam end of the lake down to around 3 and half foot at the shallowest areas. There is no weed present and only one known snag in the lake.
A maximum of 4 anglers can fish the lake and bookings can be on an exclusive basis or per angler.
For anglers wanting a bit more comfort or taking a non angling guest, rooms can be booked in the luxury bed and breakfast accommodation which overlooks the lake.
For per angler bookings, the cost for under 16s is £150.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday
Tackle hire and collection from Limoge airport is available
A selection of bait including boilies, pellets and particles is available
The lake is owned by Mark and Allison. Allison was previously chef cooks to a very high standard. Why not enjoy the delicious food package which includes breakfast, which can be delivered to your swim, and dinner for just £170 per person per week.
- Ensure all fishing rods are attended to at all times.
- Only use fishing line with a minimum breaking strain of 15lbs.
- Avoid using curved long shank hooks, such as the Mugga style.
- Exclusively utilise micro barbed hooks.
- Do not employ 360 rigs or bent hooks.
- Rig tubing should be the sole leader material allowed; no other types of leaders are permitted.
- Use lead clips exclusively for your setup.
- Braided line is prohibited, except for marker and spod rods.
- Each angler is limited to a maximum of 3 rods.
- All fish must be carefully removed from the water using the provided slings.
- Treat all hook holds and wounds appropriately; notify a bailiff immediately if a fish sustains a significant injury before releasing it back into the water.
- Avoid retaining fish in sacks.
- Tiger nuts and similar nuts are prohibited; only particles prepared by Spruce Lake are allowed.
- Only boilies supplied by Spruce Lake are permitted, although anglers may use their own hook baits such as pop ups.
- Fishing is only permitted from designated swims.
- Show respect to the surroundings and wildlife at all times.
- Dispose of all litter, including bottle caps and cigarette ends, in the provided bins and ashtrays.
- Row boats are reserved for bailiff use only.
- Spruce Lake will provide landing nets, unhooking mats, and weigh slings free of charge to prevent contamination; however, a deposit of €30 is required.
- Excessive alcohol consumption will not be tolerated on site; offenders will be asked to leave immediately.
- Under no circumstances should anyone defecate around the lake.
- Fires are strictly prohibited at all times.
Terms & Conditions for Hire/Supplied Fishing Equipment:
- Deposit: A refundable deposit of €50 is required for all hired fishing equipment. This deposit is payable upon arrival and will be returned after a thorough inspection of the equipment. Any damages incurred may result in a deduction from the deposit.
- Equipment Inspection: Upon arrival, it is the responsibility of the angler to inspect all hired fishing equipment for any damage. Any damages must be reported to the lake owner.
- Responsibility: Throughout your stay, you are accountable for all hired or supplied fishing equipment. It is expected that you will take reasonable care of the equipment, ensuring it is returned clean and tidy at the end of the hire period.
