Map

Rushes Lake is situated near Le Mans in the North West region of France just 4.5 hours from Calais. It is a beautiful 10-acre lake surrounded by 17-acres of beautiful scenery holding carp to 48lbs. It can be booked with accommodation or booked as a drive and survive and can be fished by a maximum of 5 anglers.

The lake is home to some stunning carp and an excellent food package to take available to take advantage of. There is wonderful accommodation at Rushes Lake as well as some brilliant facilities to ensure you are comfortable during your fishing adventure.

The backdrop to our lake is breath taking. It makes fishing on the lake extremely relaxing. There is farmland on one side of the lake and woodland on the other. So you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the lovely scenery all day and night. There are 6 swims surrounded by reeds in the summer. But there are also areas that are perfect for stalking too. Thanks to the very flat banks, all of the swims are very spacious, so even the angler that brings the kitchen sink with them will have plenty of space.

Despite there being six swims at Rushes Lake, there is a restriction on the number of anglers that are allowed to fish, ensuring that no one feels cramped during their fishing session. Five anglers from April to September and four anglers in October. The rest of the year, Rushes Lake is closed so the carp can rest and grow.

Each swim offers plenty of open water and allows you to fish to the margins and any features out in front of you. The lake varies in depths. In some areas it is 2ft, in others it goes up to about 6ft. Rushes Lake is also relatively snag-free, and the bottom is a mix of gravel and clay with big areas of silt.

If you have a mixed booking (two groups of anglers) they tend to group the anglers together in their parties in the swims that are close to each other. For example, if there’s a group of three anglers, they will be given Archies, BlueCamp and Stumps. The group of two anglers will fish Beatties and Goffees.

All anglers are provided with weigh slings and cradles free of charge.
