Oakwood Fisheries is a mature 5 acre estate lake in Brittany with a good head of large carp to over 50lbs. Set in 19 acres of private land in the heart of the countryside, up to 5 anglers can fish the lake exclusively from Saturday to Saturday. It is a short drive from the ferry ports of Calais, Le Havre, Cean or St Malo.
The lake dates back to over 150 years when it once belonged to the owners of a local chateau. Surrounded by mature overhanging trees, Oakwood Fisheries has everything an angler could want, including islands, gravel plateaus and lily pads. There are 6 comfortable wood chipped swims which have been created around the lake, each providing plenty of water coverage for 3 rods.
There are around 140 carp in the lake which consist of near black commons, scaley mirrors and some stunning linears. The lake record as of August 2020 is a mirror of 56lbs. The average size is now over 30lbs and there are a good head of fish well over the 40lb mark, at least 2 of these are over 50lbs. There are also some very large grass carp present to over 70lbs.
Bookings run from Saturday to Saturday and the prices are below:
2 anglers exclusive lake hire: £600
3 anglers exclusive lake hire: £750
4 anglers exclusive lake hire: £1000
5 anglers exclusive lake hire: £1100
Departure no later than 10am on Saturday and arrival no earlier than 1pm.

Breakfast and evening meal food package available all cooked on site using fresh ingredients.
12 inch breakfast baguette will be delivered to your swim so no need to bring the rods in. Baguette contains, free range eggs, bacon and sausages.
Evening meals are served at the large seating area next to the anglers cabin which overlooks the lake. If the weather is wet then it will be served under a covered seating area. Dishes include:
- Toad in the hole with roast potatoes, green beans and gravy
- Lasagne with garlic bread and chips
- Cottage pie with minted peas and a fresh homemade loaf of bread
- Italian meat balls with spaghetti and garlic bread
- Chicken and mushroom pie with mash and seasonal vegetables
- Rodeo burgers with chips and homemade onion rings and coleslaw
- Homemade quiche with jacket potatoes and salad
The price of the meal package is 125 Euros which can be paid on arrival.

- Never leave rods unattended
- Fires are not allowed
- Freezer boilies only, no shelf life boilies
- Fish in the designated swims only
- Treat all hookholds and fsh damage with a carp care kit
- Handle the fish with care and keep out of the water for a least time as possible
- Fish must be photographed in the swim they were caught in
- Carp cradles are required an can be rented for 15 euros per week
