We had a fantastic time at Mongenet, fishing was unbelievable!! I caught over 80 fish by the end of the week with 4 forties up to 48lb 8oz, over 30 different thirties to 39lb and rest mainly between 22-28lb. Only around 10 were under 20lb between 12-18lb.
Mongenet is definitely a runs water, I couldn’t get 2 rods in the water for most of the time and only fished between 9am-10pm.
I used simple rigs, tubing to protect the fish and wafters for hook baits.
Bait supplied at venue, 25kg of pellet, 10kg of maize and 10 kilo of Shellfish boilies.
Facilities were spot on with everything you need, bonus being the accommodation is so close to the lake as well.
There is also loads to do in the area with plenty of shops and supermarkets close by to keep the family happy.
