**Baleine Catch Report – 26/4 to 3/5**
It’s been a tough week on Baleine. After several strong weeks producing a great number of big fish, the fishing slowed down as the carp found plenty of natural food to feed on.
Nevertheless, things picked up toward the end of the week, and in total 18 carp were landed. The highlight was *Shoulders* at an impressive 57 lb, along with four 40 lb+ fish. As almost every week, several PBs were broken, which is always great to see.
However, we’ve noticed an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed. Many anglers tell us they’ve read the rules, but in practice, it’s clear they haven’t. We are now six weeks into the season and still having to repeat the same instructions—rules that are in place primarily to protect the health of the carp and the fishery.
So to be absolutely clear:
* No plastic bait may be used
* No leaders of any kind
* No seeds or nuts from outside the fishery
* Keep the lakes clean—no rubbish left anywhere
* All fish over 40 lb must be handled and photographed in the water at all times
We have been repeating these rules for years, and consistently again over the past six weeks. This report is to make our position clear: we are done repeating ourselves.
From now on, anyone found not adhering to the rules will be asked to leave the lake immediately, without further warning.
