What a week!! 🎣🇫🇷
We’ve just returned from an absolutely incredible fishing trip to La Froterie, and honestly, we couldn’t recommend it enough.
Lisa and Heath are the most incredible hosts — so welcoming, friendly and genuinely lovely people. They’re joined by their handsome and very well-behaved French Pointer, Haribo, and the two resident geese, Bee and Boo, who certainly add to the character of the place!
The Gîte has absolutely everything — and more — that you could possibly need for the perfect stay. It’s comfortable, beautifully presented and feels like a real home from home. The pool is a fantastic touch, especially when the weather gets hot, and the immaculate grounds make the whole place feel incredibly special.
And then there’s the lake… 🎣
It is beautifully maintained, and it’s clear just how much care and attention goes into looking after both the lake and the fish. The fish are incredibly healthy and in fantastic condition. Between us, everyone beat their personal bests, which says everything about the quality of the fishing!
We caught a fantastic variety too — beautiful commons, stunning mirrors, our very first grass carp, gorgeous koi and even catfish. One of our group had never fished before this trip and is now completely hooked (pun absolutely intended! 😂).
From the fantastic fishing and stunning surroundings to the incredible hospitality from Lisa and Heath, La Froterie really is something special.
