Map

La Chatouillette is situated in a picturesque area of natural beauty, surrounded by open countryside, hills, and ancient forests in the Department of the Manche. The location is just a 1 hour and 20-minute drive from Caen ferry port and 4 hours and 30 minutes from Calais.

Your stay at La Chatouillette includes a charming coach house that can accommodate up to 4 guests, along with an exclusive 3-acre lake stocked with mirror and common carp, some weighing over 30lbs, with an average size of 26lbs.

The lake is nestled within the expansive gardens of La Chatouillette, just a few meters away from the coach house. It offers an ideal setting for up to 4 anglers, surrounded by mature gardens, woodlands, and meadows.

The lake’s depth ranges from 2ft to 6ft at its deepest point, with a lakebed predominantly composed of sand and silt. Towards the shallower end, there is a smaller island, while a larger island, with depths between 3-5ft, sits off-centre.

There are six grass swims around the lake, providing ample space for setting up your fishing equipment and bivvi.

A maximum of 4 people in total including both anglers and non anglers are permitted.

Carp Care Guide

  • Before unhooking or weighing, remove any watches or jewelry that could potentially harm the fish.
  • Arrange your landing net, unhooking mat, and weigh sling/retainer before you start fishing.
  • Keep essential items like landing net, camera, scales, and forceps (for unhooking) within easy reach.
  • Always use the unhooking mat and weigh sling/retainer, ensuring the mat stays wet using a nearby bucket.
  • Handle carp gently and return them to the lake as swiftly as possible.
  • Apply KLINIC or a similar product to treat any hook holes or wounds on the carp.
  • Always place the carp on the unhooking mat; avoid standing, lifting high, or walking with the carp. Kneel over the mat at all times.
  • Use the weigh sling/retainer to lower the carp back into the water.
  • After returning the fish, ensure it can breathe properly and is stable before releasing it.
  • Make sure the weigh sling is properly secured to prevent the fish from falling out.
  • We offer landing nets, unhooking mats, and weigh slings/retainers, which will be checked before and after your use.
  • We retain the right to inspect your fishing equipment, rigs, and bait at any moment to ensure adherence to the lake rules.
