Well a tough week for the lads going into there last night. Lovely days but really cold nights with misty mornings. Today has been the best day with 18degrees and overcast mark had a 39lb mirror early hours of this morning then Richard had a 38.8lb mirror about 2 just before we went to the pub. Richard has never known it so cold at this time of year and he’s on his 22nd trip out to foxpool. The stamp of fish has been good Richard has had, he’s only had 5 fish 2 x 36lb commons and a 39lb 37lb and 38.8lb mirrors he’s lost 3 carp and a catfish.Marks had 7 fish from peg 1 with biggest of the week a 42lb mirror followed up by a 39lb mirror. Aaron also had 5 fish couple of thirtys to 36lb . I think the huge drop in night temperatures is a big factor lows of 4 degrees, but the last few fish have come from pva bags were at the back end of our busiest season due.to covid and I said earlier in the year it will interesting to see how it fishes back end after the pressure they’ve been under.Maybe the fish are used to getting hooked off baitboat sized patches of bait and are spooking off or leaving them until there wash out. Certainly worth trying a different aproach on presentation I’m a big fan of stringers. Peg 2 has been a tough gig all year probably the last 2 years to be fair after being the most sort after swim when I took over. I’ve noticed a lot of fizzing mid water over the last few weeks and both Richards 38lb And marks 39lb fish came from peg 2 water on pva bags.Since I started wrighting this post both Aaron and Richard have banked a couple of low 30s. Moving them both on 6 fish each all over 30lb for Richard with 5 over 35lb so good weights. I’m going to up the amount of pellet I put in over the winter months as there’s a lot of fish around the 38,39lb mark so hopefully get them into the forty pound barrier ready for next year. Heres some of Richards fish.
