A few more fish out today and definitely getting more active now. After a warm day yesterday today has been overcast with a temperature of 17 degrees after a mild night last night , that was the first night this year that I haven’t lit the log burner. 3 of the the lads managed a fish today and Malc lost one this afternoon whilst applying pressure on it to keep it from reaching the snags. Malc had a 25lb mirror just after first light. Mark in peg 3 had the common I put in from the stockpond 3 weeks ago at 17lb ,he’s on pest control this week after having a small cat first day. Least he’s off the mark now I always say the first fish is the hardest. Poor Sean in peg 2 can’t by a bite despite fish showing over his bait on the island. Bob bagged stumpy at 32lb from peg 4. just before we had a barbecue. That’s her best weight since I took over she was always around the 30lb mark but did drop to 29lb in covid times. Sean and malc was on ove 10 years ago and both had two tone at under 40lb in the same week.,Sean thinks he had stumpy at 36lb then and I was wondering if anyone else had her at a similar weight. Another great set of lads on this week, who are from near where I grew up in South Manchester Bob is real character for a bitter blue😁.Sean was showing me a picture of a zander he caught on here last visit ,malc was saying how much the place has matured and changed the cabin wasn’t in use last time and they ate in the house and the stock pond was on the field bank. Sean and malc have had a rod in the stockpond for last 2 days but can’t get a touch just shows the fish behaviour is strange at the moment both stockpond and main lake are full to the brim Marc had his deeper pro out and got depths to 12ft infront of peg 3. Hopefully Sean lands a lump tonight 🙏 he deserves it .Still slow but getting more active, some of the fish landed had leeches on so there just getting active I think .the water temperature is cold as the cold nights decrease the lake will warm up and they’ll be back on it.🤞
