Well only a month now before we open up for the 2025 season and I’m excited to see what the lakes throws up after last year’s results . We had 10 new forties ladt year and a new lake record mirror at 53lb. I think the long mirror will soon be the biggest fish in the lake as its got a
Huge long frame on it and it’s not as old as the biggest resident two tone.
We have fed heavily over the closed season with pellet and maize and I’m hoping we get some big growth from out stock. I will.put a few kilo of bollies out a few weeks before we open to get them.used to the little round balls of goodies.
It’s been a long close season as we shutdown the 1st week of October and we reopen on the 5th of April. The fish haven’t seen a line since then and will be well rested. It’s going to be busy season thoughh with anglers on week after week with only a few free weeks left in may and October and the last week of September still free. I have put the bait orders in to the bait companies ready for when the anglers return.
The fish are getting more active now as spring is on the way. The birds on in song and the daffodils starting to flower. We had nice days but frosts are still regular.
We have invested heavily again in new tackle with new nets slings and cradles . We also bought new fox 2 man bivvies and skins and new fox day chairs all bedchairs have been new in the last 18 months I also got a new set of delkims and shimano baitrunners for the new season.
This my 7th year running foxpool and it’s gone from strength to strength and it’s our best year for bookings ever. I can’t wait to see anglers getting amongst a few big fish again and everyone will made welcome at foxpool. We have a few drive and survive lads on but the majority are flying and enjoying the excellent food package. We have a few weeks spare October is still quite and the fish are in great condition and full as guns that time of year I hope to get my rods out then and bank a few.
