Etang de la Basse Roussiere
Located in north west France just an hours drive from the ferry port of St Malo is Etang de la Basse Roussiere, a 25 acre lake which offers fishing for up to 12 anglers. The lake can be booked exclusively or per swim. If you click the video tab you will find a video summary of this venue.
Opening for the first time to UK anglers in 2025, the lake has been stocked with 600 carp which are rapidly gaining weight. As of 2024 there are over 200 carp over 30lbs, at least 12 over 40lbs and at least 3 x 50s.
There are 6 swims, 5 of which are on the road bank and all of which you can park your vehicle behind the swim. The 6th swim is on the opposite bank and can be accessed by boat.
The lake bed is predominantly clay and silt. Depths range from around 3 foot in the shallowest and are around 11 feet at the dam end of the lake. In the summer months you will find beautiful beds of lilies in the margins. There is very little weed present and there are no poisson chat, bream or crayfish present.
