Chestnut Pool is an intimate lake of just over an acre in size with carp to over 50lbs set in 5 acres of chestnut tree forest. This venue is ideal for a small family or a couple and includes a newly refurbished fully equipped 2 bedroom wooden log cabin style chalet overlooking the lake as well as an outdoor hot tub. In addition to the main lake there is a smaller lake which is very well stocked with carp making it ideal for children or match anglers.
Chestnut Pool is located in Normandy, which is only 4 hours drive from Calais and 2 hours from the ferry port of Caen. The lake has been acquired by a new owner for the 2021 season and has undergone significant renovations making this a truly stunning and relaxing place to holiday.
Surrounded by overhanging trees this intimate pool is perfect for 2 anglers. There are 3 swims placed around the lake as well as some excellent margin areas for close action stalking. The lake has not been fished since 2017 and as such the fish are in excellent condition and not too wary of anglers.
There are currently around 130 carp in the lake to 51lbs with a good portion of the stock over 30lbs. There are 2 catfish between 60 to 70lbs. In autumn 2021 a further 30 carp between 30 to 45lbs have been added.
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday, arrival time 2pm and departure time 10am.
Full tackle hire is available for 2 anglers both fishing a 3 rod set up. The tackle has been purchased in 2021 and is of a very high standard. It icludes everything you need including a bivvy and bedchair. The cost is £150 per week per person.
Landing nets and unhooking mats are provided free of charge
A selection of bait and some small items of tackle are available on site.

- barbless or microbarbed hooks
- fish safe rigs only with lead drop off style
- rig tubing to be used minimum of 18 inches
- braided mainline is not allowed
- particles must be purchased on site unless out of an unopened tin
- boilies must be in an unopened packet when arriving
- use the mats and nets provided
- always be respectful of the fish
- treat any fish wounds and hookholds with a carp care kit
