Carphunters lake is a mature 5 acre lake surrounded by forest, with carp to just over 50lbs which can be fished by up to 4 anglers. There is an optional very well equipped mobile which is just metres from the lake if you required accommodation.
There are 6 swims which have been well thought out, each offering plenty of water coverage. One swim is a double swim. Depths range from 3 feet down to 10 feet in the deepest parts. If you lead around you will find gravel areas on the lake bottom.
The lake has a pathway which allows you to walk all the way around it. You’ll find lots of overhanging trees, shrubs and lily pads around the lake which are natural holding areas and patrol routes for the carp.
There is no weed in the lake, crayfish or catfish.
The site is completely secure with plenty of parking and a locked gate for privacy.
Carphunters lake is located in Saint-Aubin-des-Châteaux in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.
It is only 90 minutes drive from the ferry port of St Malo, 2 and half hours from Caen and 3 hours from Le Havre.
In the small village of St Aubin Des Chateaux which is 4 km from lake there’s a bar, doctors, pharmacy, Boulanger, and a small corner shop. Chateaubriant is 10 km where there are big supermarkets and restaurants.
There is a good choice of French, Italian, Pizza, Chinese, Tai, and Steak restaurants, along with McDonald’s, Burger King and Dominos.
Also there is a good sized fishing shop called Tentation Pêche, which sells a range of carp tackle so is ideal just in case you had forgotten anything
