Lac de Camalo is a 14 acre lake with huge carp to over 70lbs and a massive head of fish to 40lbs and over. It is located in central France about 5 hours from Calais and can be fished by up to 6 anglers.
Lac de Camalo was dug in the 1970s and is now surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and abundant nature. The lake bottom is clay and sand with some areas of gravel and pockets of silt. Depths vary from around 10 feet at the end of the dam to 3 feet in shallower areas. The lake is fed by a stream, which keeps the water well oxygenated and helps create the ideal conditions for large carp to thrive. Rowing boats, motors and batteries as well as pingers can be hired from the lake to help locate spots.
Swims
There are 3 swims on the lake, all located on the north shore and comfortably accommodating 2 anglers. Each has plenty of water coverage. All are accessible by car, although in wet weather access may be limited, so please ask.
Two of these have accommodation, the Kube and the Cabin. Both are set back from the water’s edge and can be used for fishing. Each accommodation sleeps 4 people, making it ideal for anglers who prefer more comfort or for people who don’t fish. See the ‘facilities’ tab for detailed information on the accommodation.
On site, there is a toilet block with hot showers, toilets and washbasins. There are power points for recharging your phone and batteries.
The lake has a summer kitchen with light, electricity and a professional electric griddle.
Camalo’s fish stock is one of the best you’ll find anywhere. There are around 270 carp with 2 fish over 70lbs at the right time of year and an average weight of 45lbs.
