Want to start this review by thanking David the owner. Whose help and advice was invaluable, add to this the fact he was always on hand to help out and encourage everyone when needed. His approach was very subtle in that he left us alone, but was always there when needed.
The lake itself was as described on the website. Plenty of scope with an abundance of features both above and below the waterline. Depth variations, different substrates from gravel patches, smooth clay/mud, soft silt and sparse areas of low lying weed. Added to this the margins which were either reed lined or tree/bush and snag lined. With open water areas and secluded bays. This lake offers something for everyone. We got the impression that this wasn’t a runs water, but with a little thought and application the rewards were there to be had.
The lake facility’s were basic but clean, with plenty of fridge and freezer space.
There is plenty of local supermarkets, tabacs, shops and bakeries nearby. We found the local pizzeria and kebab would deliver to the lake.
As for our trip, we witnessed a massive difference in weather and temperatures during our visit. Bearing this in mind we did ok in the circumstances. We finished with a total of 24 carp with 6 x 40s, 10 x 30s, 3 x 20s and 5 x doubles. With two of group of the lads finishing with new pb’s of 48 and 42, a big well done
