Camalo Lake
Camalo lake is a 14 acre lake with huge carp to over 70lbs and a massive head of 40lbs plus fish. It is located in Central France approximately 5 hours from Calais and can be fished by a maximum of 6 anglers.
Camalo lake was originally dug in the 1970s and is now surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and an abundance of nature. The lake bed consists of clay and sand with some gravel areas and silt pockets. Depths range from around 10 feet at the dam end to 3 feet in the shallower areas. It is stream fed which keeps the water well oxygenated and helps to provide the ideal conditions for big carp to thrive. Rowing boats and echo sounders can be rented at the lake to aid with locating spots.
There are 3 swims on the lake all of which are on the north bank and can comfortably accommodate 2 anglers. All 3 swims can be accessed by car. Each swim offers a lot of water coverage.
Two of the swims have accommodation, which are known as the Kube and the Cabin swims. Both accommodations can are set back just from the water’s edge and can be fished from. Each accommodation can sleep 4 people making them ideal for anglers who prefer more comfort or taking non angling guests. See the ‘facilities’ tab for detailed information on the accommodation.
On site there is a wash block with hot showers, toilets and basins. There are electrical sockets to charge your phone and batteries.
The fish stock in Camalo is amongst the best you will find. There are approximately 270 carp with 2 fish over 70lbs at the right time of year and an average weight of 45lbs.
Supermarket and shops are a ten minute drive from the lake.
From mid November to mid March the booking price is reduced by 50%. The sanitary facilities are closed during the off-peak season.
Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday
Bookings can be per swim or lake exclusive
Arrive no earlier than 2pm and departure by 11am the following Saturday.
A fee if 5 Euros is charged upon arrival for the removal of the rubbish from the bins
A 50 Euro cleaning fee is payable on arrival for customers staying in the chalet and a 200 Euro refundable breakages deposit
If you require to use the heating there is a fee of 70 Euros per week

Mid November to 1st March all prices are 50% off
Rowing boats can be rented for 70 euros for the week
A electric motor and battery for the boat is 70 Euros
Echo sounder is 35 Euros
A selection of bait is available to purchased on site which includes:
A food package of breakfast and evening meal can be ordered. Orders will need to be placed a week before you arrive.
- Rowing boats are permitted and can be hired at the lake
- A Euro 5 rubbish tax is payable on arrival
- You are not permitted to use your own rowing boat
- Bait boats are allowed
- Do not swim in the lake
- Fish safe rigs only, no fixed leads
- Micro barbed hooks only
- Mono mainline only, no braided mainline
- Leadcore leaders are not allowed
- Rig tubing must be used
- 3 rods per anger
- All fish to be unhooked, weighed in the water and photographed in the water
- Each angler must have an adequate size landing net, at least 40 inches, a weigh sling and large carp mat
- Use carp care kit on hookholds
- Anti social behaviour will not be tolerated
- Do not leave rubbish in your swim
- Be respectful of other anglers
- Dogs are allowed if they are well behaved
- No open fires
- Bbqs are permitted as long as they are off the ground
- The lake is under video surveillance
- Failure to comply with the rules may result in you being asked to leave early with no refund
