Kingfisher Lake at Puyravaud offers the perfect retreat for anglers aiming to land seriously big carp to well over 60lbs, while also catering to families seeking luxurious accommodation, a purpose-built swimming pool, and the tranquillity of the stunning natural surroundings.
Located in south west France it is west of Limoges. The closest ferry ports are St Malo and Caen both over which are around a 5 hours drive.
A fly and fish package is offered including tackle hire. Tackle hire is also available if you are driving and wish to save space in your vehicle.
The lake is 2.75 acres, surrounded by trees, offering a peaceful and secluded setting. It can be dated back to the 1700s. There are around 45 carp of which 3 are over 60lbs and the average weight is around 45lbs.
The accommodation which is optional is beautiful stone barn conversion which can accommodate up to 5 guests. Refer to the ‘facilities’ tab for detail information on the accommodation and swimming pool.
Kingfisher Lake can be fished by up to 4 anglers and there are 3 swims to each of which commands ample water coverage.
The Swims
Willow Island:
This spacious double swim is located at the dam wall end of the lake. The fishing depths reach up to 12 feet, and the swim’s key feature is a small island positioned 30 metres ahead.
The Point:
Situated centrally, this swim provides access to most areas of Kingfisher Lake. Depths typically range between 5 and 7 feet, and from the left-hand side of the swim, anglers can target the Willow Island area.
The Feed:
Located nearest to the house, this single swim is positioned at the lake’s inlet. It is the shallowest swim, with a depth of around 4 feet, benefiting from a continuous flow of water and promising excellent catches.
Travel Information – Fly and Fish
Affordable flights are available from Stansted, Manchester, East Midlands, and Southampton to either Limoges or Poitiers airports. The closest airport is Limoges, with a travel time of approximately 45 minutes to Puyravaud, while Poitiers is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away.

Please inform the venue in advance if you require a food package. Note that we do not offer full meal plans during the summer months. Evening meals are designed for convenience, allowing anglers to continue fishing uninterrupted. Meals are served in thermal containers for ease of consumption.
