Set in the Aube region of France, approximately 4 hours from Calais, Belenos lake is 10 acres in size and can be fished by up to 4 anglers. Surrounded by an abundance of nature and wildlife and fishing from the lakeside chalet, Belenos lake has been described by many anglers as fishing paradise.
There are 2 double swims nestled between the mature trees that line the banks of the lake. Both swims have cabins which can be night fished from day or night. Each cabin can comfortably accommodate 2 bedchairs and have wooden platforms overhanging the water (rod pods are required). The cabins are on the same bank just 50 metres apart making is a good set up for groups of friends or dads and sons. Click on the facilities tab for more information about the cabins.
Carp were stocked into the lake in the mid 1990s and the current lake owner who purchased the lake in 2019 has added to the original stock with a mixture of commons, mirrors as well as some koi carp and sturgeon. The current lake record is a 48lb leather carp and there are at least 8 40s and over 40 30s.
The lake is rich in natural food including crayfish which provides perfect conditions for growing big carp. The lake has been untouched for almost 2 decades before the current owner took it over. Apart from where the swims have been created, the banks are wild and over grown. The general depth is around 3 meters and the lake bed is full of underwater features including humps and troughs, silt, gravel and sandy areas.
A boat with outboard motor is available to use free of charge.
The lake is surrounded by wild life including wild cats, foxes, red squirrels, deer, pheasants and ducks. Dogs are permitted providing they are supervised at all times.
